You will not see a boat like Elcie every day!  Elcie is a very unique offshore catamaran built from Sealium Aluminum alloy and carrying a ketch rig sail plan.

Elcie has just completed an 18 month/32,000 NM circumnavigation. She is a fast, comfortable and capable passagemaker. With berths for 10, she has safely carried a family along with many expense-sharing crew and volunteers across all oceans. She is well-suited to expedition and term charters, light scientific research, eco-adventures, film support and group/family cruising.  She also holds a USCG Jones Act exemption (MARAD Waiver) which affords her the ability to be operated as a charter vessel in US waters with up to 12 guests.

Elcie’s strength and stability make her feel solid at sea while her shallow draft allows exploration well off the beaten track. The ketch rig offers two advantages - a variety of sail combinations for changing weather conditions and a low center of effort without loss of sail area. Maximum ventilation and insulation make her comfortable in the tropics as well as in higher latitudes.

Elcie is being sold by the original owners, who commissioned and oversaw the entire build process.    They worked closely with yacht designer, David De Villiers, and builder Q-West Boatbuilders in New Zealand to create a versatile and now proven voyager constructed of high quality aluminum.  Both professional USCG Licensed Captains, the owners have a combined 75 years of sailing experience that they drew upon to design their perfect offshore cruiser.

Elcie is outfitted to be easy to operate and self-sufficient with long range cruising in mind. Included in the equipment list are 700 Watt Solar Panels, a Spectra Cape Horn Watermaker, Jefa Transmission Steering System and Autopilot, Vesper AIS, Satcom and much more.

Please contact TMC broker Andrew Hodgdon to schedule a showing of this exceptional catamaran.
